A loaf of bread is shaped and baked in one piece. It is usually large enough for multiple people and it can be cut into slices for serving. There is a way to bake the loaf with a rectangular pan, which is called a loaf pan. The reason for using a loaf pan is that the large dough is prone to breakage during the baking process. The high-viscosity dough can be molded into the desired shape and baked on a flat oven tray but when cooking with a thin viscosity, it is recommended that a bread pan whose sides are higher than the uncooked though in order to cook in a fine shape of a loaf.
